New website up and running!

After long months of thinking, discussing, planning, writing, revising, and technical inputs, my new website is finally up and running! Many thanks to everyone who gave ideas and feedback. And special thanks to web designer Melanie Marston, of Marston Creative, for her gentle but persistent prodding, wise counsel, patience, and awesome technical skills.

My intention is for this website to serve not only to articulate what I do and invite you to use my services, but that it also be a source of deeper inspiration and clarity as you travel your unique journey of discovery and transformation. I continue to welcome your thoughts, questions, ideas, and feedback to make this website as valuable a resource as possible for everyone. And please do post comments on my blog, if you feel so moved by any of the entries.

Connecting with my Spirit Mom on her birthday

Loved ones who have died are no longer with us in the flesh, but, in my experience, they haven’t really gone very far away. Rather, their spirits (or souls) continue to be with us. I have felt this to be very true with my mother, Ruth Shapiro, who died almost three years ago. Since then she has been my Spirit Mom, including just the other day (See previous blog post). And today is her birthday! She would have been 96.

One of the best ways we can connect with our departed loved ones is through honoring and celebrating WITH THEM those events and activities that had special meaning for the person and/or our relationship with them. That means actually inviting them to join us in the celebration. And often they will come, because their spirits are drawn in through their continuing connection to that which they loved when they were alive. More

Congregational Conversation at UU Church

This morning, I co-led the worship service at the local UU church I attend, along with UU mates Chuck and Mike. Not surprisingly, for this first service of the New Year, the theme was “Learning from the Past Year and Creating the Year Ahead.” As part of the service, I read a poem by Dag Hammarskjold called “Unknown Land”

I am being driven forward
Into an unknown land.
The pass grows steeper
The air colder and sharper
A wind from my unknown goals
Stirs the strings of expectation. More
